The elaboration of relationship connections

My Girl. She used to be my girl.

What do I do, when the big leg girl goes away? And nothing I say brings her back.

Let’s talk it…

“Hey Danny, what’s up man; long time no see.” “Hey Bobby, all is well. It has been a while since we last seen each other. How is the family asked Danny?” “The family is well. I still live in the same place; swing by on Saturday if you have time. I will be in the garage all day working on my 1966 Convertible Mustang, Bobby replied.” “Man, I will be there. Do you still drink corona beer? Asked Danny.” “Yeah man, I do.” “Okay, me and corona will see you on Saturday.”

Danny is a 65-year-old man who only dates women under the age of forty. After turning sixty he changed the age requirement from under 30 to under 40 for woman he dates. Danny realized todays under thirty women requires too much from him financially that he is willing to give. In the past, Danny has always dated women 15 to 20 years younger than himself. He was known around the neighborhood as the cradle robber.  He always had a player’s swag as he dressed in his 1970 finest attire. Danny wore elephant leg pants long after they went out of style. After one of the neighborhood teenager nicks named him “Taco Bell”, Danny changed his vintage elephant leg pants attire to straight leg. At the age of 41, Danny married a woman who had just turned 21. He calls her Big Leg Ruby. This was the first time Danny fell in love with a woman. As a womanizer, he never thought he could fall in love. Danny bought Big Leg Ruby a house and a new car before she agreed to marry him.

Danny gets out the bed on Saturday around 10:00am. He lays out his clothes on the bed before turning on the shower. Danny thinks to himself as he showers “I hope Bobby’s wife young Tenderoni friends comes over. It’s been a while since I had a woman in my bed after Big Leg Ruby divorce my ass.” After picking up a case of corona beer from the store, he heads to Bobby’s house. When he arrives around noon Bobby was in the garage under the hood of his 1966 Convertible Mustang. “Hey man, what’s up;” shouts Danny as he walks into the garage carrying the beer. “Hey Danny man, you made it.” “Man, I wouldn’t miss seeing you fix up the Mustang for nothing in the world. You know I use to own one myself back in the day.” “Yeah Man, I remember you telling me. I told my wife Christina that you were coming by; she is in the house making us some finger foods for lunch.” “Okay Bobby, sounds good.” Bobby asked Danny to put the beer in the small refrigerator near where he was standing. After placing the beer in the frig, Danny sat in one of the four folding chairs. Bobby informs Danny, in detail, his plans in fixing up the Mustang. As they were talking, Christina walks into the garage carrying the finger food she prepared for them. She placed the food on the folding table before going over to Danny and greets him with a hug. Danny asked her if she had any single friends looking for a good man. Christina giggle as she exits the garage while declaring she wasn’t sure of her friend’s relationship status. Bobby stops working, wash his hands, grab him and Danny a beer out the frig. They both sat, ate, and drank beer as they told stories about the good old days. Bobby asked Danny why he divorce the love of his life Big Leg Ruby. Danny’s entire countenance shined with happiness as he talked about Ruby. Man, Bobby, let me tell you about Ruby.

“She lighted up my world with her presence from the first time I met her until this day. I met her around the corner from my house at a small furniture store. I would hang out at the store talking to the owner. Occasionally, I would help the owner move furniture. Ruby came into the store to purchase a box spring for her bed. She thought I worked at the store.  She asked me a lot of questions about box springs. I suggested as to the type of box spring that would be best for the type of mattress she had. She had just rented her first apartment at the age of 19 and was looking for furniture with a limited budget. Someone gave her a new mattress with bed rails. I told her that I worked part time as a handy man and I would be more than happy to help her with any work needed in her new apartment. We exchanged numbers. I called her every month for a year checking to see if my help was needed. She would always say no then thank me for checking with her. Each time I called I would engage her in having a brief conversation with me. As time went on, the conversations would become longer. One time, unbeknown to me, prior to the call; I called her two weeks before her 20th birthday. She was expressing her excitement about finally getting out of her teen years. I asked to take her to dinner to celebrate. To my surprise, she said yes. I could tell she was starting to feel comfortable being around me. Also, she appears to enjoy talking to me. She would often tell me that she wishes the guys her age carries themselves the way I did and was as easy to talk to as I was. At this point I knew I had captivated her mind. I took this opportunity to let her know, that if I had a woman like her, I would buy her a house and a car. I told her if she would marry me when she turns 21 that I would honor my word and buy her a house and a car. She told me that she needed to think about it because she has never dated anyone twenty years older than her. I told her a man twenty years older can make her feel things in and out the bed that a dude her age couldn’t because they are still green behind the ears and don’t have the experience or knowledge to do what I do. At that moment, I knew I had her attention because for the first time she allowed me to kiss her goodnight. I gave her a very passionate kiss to match the words I was speaking.” Bobby stared at Danny as he talked about meeting Ruby. So, tell me Danny, did she marry you because of your promise to buy her a house and car or because the romance became hot and heavy? “Both man; both. I made love to Ruby for the first time two months after the passionate goodnight kiss. Man, I know I blew her mind because she was the one initialing sex after the first time. Five months prior to her 21st birthday, she agreed to marry me. As promise, I purchased us a house and a new car. I told Ruby, I wanted her to conceive my baby on our wedding night. I wanted all the fellows to know that she was off the market.” “Sounds like everything was going good with you and Ruby. What caused you two to get a divorce?” “Well man, after our son turned four, Ruby went back to working outside our home. I refused to allow her to work outside the home after we got marry. This caused a rip in our relationship. She would complaint about not having any me time or not being able to socialize with her friends or family.” Man, Danny, you would not allow her to socialize with her friends or family while you two was marry? “Let me put it like this, I didn’t allow her to socialize with haters who did not want to see us married. Her job was to be my wife and the mother to our child. She obeyed this command until Junior turn 4 years old. This is when she tells me she doesn’t give a F about what I want anymore. She goes out and finds a job against my wishes. She puts my son in childcare against my wishes. I start coming up to her job to spy on her. I wanted to see if she was spending her lunch hour seeing another man. She caught me spying on her several times. She told me she couldn’t take it anymore. I guess she was plotting to leave me because one Saturday after we talked about going to dinner that evening after I come back home from fishing, she left with my son. I came home to an empty house. She and junior had moved in with her mother. She files a restraining order with the courts prohibiting me from coming to her job. Shortly after leaving, she files for divorce. Because she wasn’t asking for much in the divorce, I signed the papers. She only asked to keep her car and for me to pay for junior childcare. Man, Bobby, it has been 19 years since our divorce, and I still love Ruby as much today as I did when I first laid eyes on her. She is still as fine as wine with her big legs and butt. I have never given up on trying to get back with her. She is currently married and I still haven’t given up. From time to time, I call her just to see how she is doing. We have learned how to be friends; or at least cordial over the phone. We haven’t seen each other in person in approximately 15 years. My son shows me pictures he takes with his mom; this is how I know she is still as beautiful today as she was the day, I met her. Each time I call her, at least three times a year, I tell her to tell her husband, I coming to get my girl because she is My Girl. We laugh it off as I tells her I was just calling to say hello and see how she is doing. Our conversation would last all of three to five minutes. I would end our phone conversation with the same question; which is, when are you coming back home? She would laugh before saying Bye Danny. The way I see it; she isn’t hanging up the phone on me. For this reason, hope is alive and obtainable. I will wait patiently for her to leave this man she now calls her husband before returning home to me.” “Wow, Danny this is some deep shit you are talking. Man, I had no idea you felt this way about your ex. I thought you were a player, a ladies’ man. Throughout the years I have known you; you have always had a different young woman on your arm. Us younger dudes would look up to you because you had that swag and talk that knew how to draw the young women to you. Hell, we were trying to learn from you. Now you are telling me, although you were in the game; it wasn’t in your heart.” “Yeah, Bobby that’s what I am saying. I still have player skills; however, the player in me would rather be back marry to my girl; Big Leg Ruby. What I have learned from this experience Bobby; what it took to get Ruby, is what I should have continued to do to keep her. I thought by controlling her and limiting her outside contact would keep her with me forever because she would only know me or associate with only me. Too bad this lesson was learned too late.
